I was super excited to meet and photograph this little lady.  She is my cousin's daughter and even though she had just celebrated her first birthday, I was meeting her for the first time.  I think one of the hardest things about growing up and having a family of your own is that seeing and keeping in touch with extended family gets that much harder.  For me, living over two hours away from most of my side of the family, doesn't help.  Life just happens and before you know it, there are people you haven't seen in years.   Well,  I wish I could say she was as excited to meet me and my camera, but that wasn't the case this day.  She made me work for every little smile and smirk, but it was totally worth it! I think we were all pretty exhausted by the end of our session; Mom, Dad, and Sophie the dog included.
